FIRST TEAM TO CONQUER MT EVEREST

 The team comprising of M. Mohanadas and M. Magendran conquered the peak of Mt Everest at 8,848m at 2.10pm (11.55am Nepal time) on May 23, 1997, after struggling for 12 hours and through 635m of snow and ice. The duo, who were part of The Malaysia-Everest Project 97, also planted the Jalur Gemilang on the summit of the worlds highest mountain.

KUMPULAN PERTAMA TAWAN GUNUNG EVEREST

Kumpulan dengan ahlinya M. Mohanadas dan M. Magendran berjaya menawan puncak Gunung Everest setinggi 8,848m jam 2.10 petang (!1.55pagi waktu Nepal) pada 23 Mei, 1997, setelah bertungkus lumus mendaki dan meredah salji serta ais selama 12 jam. Kedua mereka yang merupakan sebahagian daripada Projek Malaysia-Everest 97, turut meletakkan Jalur Gemilang di puncak tertinggi dunia.
