The Kek Lok Si temple, on a hilltop at Ayer Itam, Penang, boasts a 30-m, seven-tier pagoda; numerous prayer halls and a monastery library of Buddhist literature, among others. The temple, built in 1921, is split into three tiers spread over a rocky incline and surrounded by 12 ha piece of land.
