FIRST GUIDE DOG FOR THE BLIND

On November 28, 2018 the 6 years-old guide dog, Lashawn Chan received a recognition from the Malaysia Book of Record for being the ‘First Guide Dog for The Blind’. Lashawn is a well trained dog and has undergone strict coaching in China at the Nanking Working Dogs Association before Mr. Stevens Chan brought him over to Malaysia in 2012. Mr. Stevens Chan who is also the Founder of SOS Missions Bhd who initiated the Dogs for Sight Movement, hoped that with this recognition it will help in leading to the necessary amendments to the Disabilities Act to allow Guide Dogs and their Blind Owners access to travel anywhere in Malaysia.
