TALLEST ‘BELAWING’ TOWER

On October 27, 2019, the ‘Tungun Belawing Pebeka Tawai’ of the Uma Baha community in Apau Koyan Belaga has set a new record in the Malaysia Book of Records as the ‘Tallest ‘Belawing’ Tower’.

Standing tall at 24 metres, the ‘Belawing’ tower was carved out of 2 belian logs by the longhouse community over three months. The effort is aimed at preserving the culture of the local folks in the area.

Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture officiated the event, witnessed by over 500 villagers from Apau Koyan.


TIANG ‘BELAWING’ PALING TINGGI

Pada 27 Oktober 2019, ‘Tiang Belawing Pebeka Tawai’ dari komuniti Uma Baha di Apau Koyan Belaga telah menetapkan rekod baru di Malaysia Book of Records sebagai ‘Tiang ‘Belawing’ Paling Tinggi’.

Berdiri pada ketinggian 24 meter, menara ‘Belawing’ diukir daripada 2 belian balak oleh komuniti rumah panjang selama tiga bulan. Usaha ini bertujuan untuk memelihara budaya penduduk tempatan di kawasan tersebut.

Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Menteri Pelancongan, Kesenian dan Kebudayaan merasmikan acara itu, disaksikan oleh lebih 500 penduduk dari Apau Koyan.
