The Asia Pacific Masters Games (APMG) Penang 2018 has set a record for having the ‘First Torch Run for Asia Pacific Masters Games’. The APMG Torch Run covered 3,908 km, kicking off on April 28, in Kudat, Sabah, and ending in Penang on September 2, 2018. The entry in the Malaysia Book of Records was announced at the APMG Penang 2018 Appreciation Dinner at St Giles Hotel in George Town. The games, which ran from September 8 and 15, saw a total registration of 5,601 participants and drew 5,347 spectators. Penang Island City Council mayor Datuk Yew Tung Seang received the Malaysia Book of Records certificate from Malaysia Book of Records’ Deputy General Manager, Mohamad Alex Edward Jamuh Abdullah.
LARIAN OBOR-OBOR PERTAMA UNTUK SUKAN ASIA PASIFIK
Asia Pacific Masters Games (APMG) Pulau Pinang 2018 telah mencatat rekod iaitu, 'Larian Obor-obor untuk Sukan Asia Pasifik'. Pelancaran Torch APMG meliputi 3,908 km, bermula pada 28 April di Kudat, Sabah, dan berakhir di Pulau Pinang pada 2 September 2018.  Rekod tersebut diumumkan pada APMG Penang 2018 Appreciation Dinner di St Giles Hotel di George Town. Permainan yang berlangsung dari 8 hingga 15 September mencatatkan pendaftaran keseluruhan seramai 5,601 peserta dan 5,347 penonton. Datuk Bandar Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang, Datuk Yew Tung Seang telah menerima sijil Malaysia Book of Records dari Timbalan Pengurus Besar Malaysia Book of Records, Mohamad Alex Edward Jamuh Abdullah.
