FIRST FULL-SCALE HOUSE MADE OF ACACIA MANGIUM WOOD

In 1998, Forest Research Institute Malaysia has constructed a house using a plantation species timber. The Acacia mangium timber/wood used to build the full-scale functional house. The technique used were finger jointing and glue laminating to form the components for the house. The raw material was obtained from the thinning of twelve year old Acacia mangium plantation in Batu Arang, Selangor. The house is at present still standing strong and on February 2, 2018 Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has been awarded a record by the Malaysia Book Of Records for First Full-Scale House Made Of Acacia mangium Wood
