Shuttler Goh Jin Wei lived up to the nation’s expectations and received recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records for ‘First To Win Gold Medal In Youth Olympic Games In Individual Sports’ when she clinched the girls' singles title in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The 18-year-old checked into the quarter-finals in style by becoming one of the eight group champions in the preliminary rounds. By accomplishing the feat, Jin Wei has also become the first ever shuttler to win both the World Junior Championships and YOG titles. The certificate was presented on December 12, 2018 in conjunction with 25th OCM Annual Dinner and Awards Night at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The Annual Dinner & Awards Night was officiated by Y.A.B. Dato' Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.



PINGAT EMAS YANG PERTAMA DIMENANGI DALAM SUKAN OLIMPIK BELIA BAGI KATEGORI SUKAN INDIVIDU

Shuttler Goh Jin Wei telah berjaya memenuhi harapan negara dan mendapat pengiktirafan daripada Malaysia Book of Records bagi 'Pingat Emas yang Pertama Dimenangi Dalam Sukan olimpik Belia bagi Kategori Sukan Individu' apabila beliau memenangi gelaran wanita perseorangan di Buenos Aires, Argentina. Pemain berusia 18 tahun itu berjaya ke peringkat suku akhir dengan menjadi salah satu daripada lapan kumpulan juara di pusingan awal. Dengan kejayaan tersebut, Jin Wei juga menjadi pemain pertama yang memenangi kedua-dua World Junior Championships dan mendapat gelaran YOG. Sijil pengiktirafan diserahkan pada 12 Disember 2018 sempena Majlis Makan Malam Tahunan dan Malam Anugerah Mingguan Ke-25 di Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Majlis Makan Malam & Malam Anugerah Tahunan telah dirasmikan oleh Y.A.B. Dato' Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Timbalan Perdana Menteri Malaysia.
