On September 13, 2017, Kolej Tunku Kurshiah created its name in the Malaysia Book of Records through its success in producing Kemerdekaan banner using the largest thumbprint technique. A total of 180 000 thumbprints have been produced on the surface of the Kemerdekaan banner which forms the pattern of the heart symbol and the backdrop of the Jalur Gemilang. At the top of the banner is also written the words Kolej Tunku Kurshiah, while the lower part is written Malaysia. The record has been confirmed by the Malaysia Book of Records official at the Independence Day Celebration Closing Ceremony 2017 and the launch of "Biggest Thumbprint Merdeka Banner". The 35.4 meters (long) and 31.1 meters (width) Kemerdekaan banner was created with the cooperation of 840 colleges comprising students, teachers, support staff, including parents and alumni fully using the fingerprinting capabilities of all involved are taking one week to complete.
